Charles Baudelaire

Charles Baudelaire (9-Apr-1821 to 31-Aug-1867) was a French poet who also produced notable work as an essayist and art critic. His poems exhibit mastery in the handling of rhyme and rhythm, contain an exoticism inherited from Romantics, but are based on observations of real life. Baudelaire is one of the major innovators in French literature and one of the most influential poets of the 19th-century across all developed literary traditions.
