Effective Altruism (EA) is a mostly Millennial philosophy and social movement that advocates the use of evidence and reasoning to determine the most effective ways to benefit others. Altruism as opposed to egoism. Effectiveness as in practical utilitarianism by evidence as opposed to by “feeling” and competing interests. Some effective altruists also participate in the rationalist community.
